This year, the Obots had an opportunity to work on an amazing project that allowed the team to participate deeper in their competitions. The Chairman’s Award is the most prestigious award at FIRST, it honors the team that best represents a model for other teams to emulate and best embodies the mission of FIRST. It was created to keep the central focus of FIRST Robotics Competition on the ultimate goal of transforming the culture in ways that will inspire greater levels of respect and honor for science and technology, as well as encouraging more of today’s youth to become science and technology leaders. Our Chairman’s Award Crew worked very hard this year and we are very proud of them! Here is a small part of the essay they wrote, to give you a taste of their hard work!
Chairman’s Award – Team #7160
In our short three years of becoming the Ludington O-Bots we have learned to become a new generation of leaders and problem solvers with forward thinking ideas that integrate practical solutions and community wisdom to learn from each other as we become leaders in the twenty-first century workforce.
Our team #7160 has molded our mission framework to become advocates for inspiring and igniting passion in our community’s youth, mentoring creativity, and modeling collaboration to support momentum. We have embraced the ideal of welcoming varied experiences and knowledge to become a thriving beacon in our community. The FIRST influence on the O-Bots can not be described accurately with words however the positive actions of Team #7160 can.
One O-Bot action at a time.
